Like most of these, you can't get inside. They still belong to the emperor or somebody who likes his privacy. There's plenty to enjoy from the outside, though. Very well kept up, too.
Then, right across the street is one of the most famous Japanese gardens, originally laid out for the castle owner's pleasure.
