The gimmick here is, Saul shot moving reflections distorted in a Mylar flexible mirror and used those as backgrounds for his titles. The stuff is still around; I used to have some of it myself.
The same stuff was used by photographer Ira Cohen for his From the Mylar Chamber pictures, which I saw in Avant Garde magazine long before I actually met the guy - on his 1982 New York exhibition of Cibachrome prints (made by Ira Landgarten).
